Where to stay the Glen Canyon Recreation Area The sun was shining right into the camera at Horseshoe Bend so was a bit difficult to get good photos until just before we left Horseshoe Bend right at sunset. It wasnt too hot for the walk in to the slot canyon. We were hoping to get a sunset at Horseshoe Bend. Nearly as tall as the Statue of Liberty, this natural bridge made of Navajo Sandstone and Kayenta Sandstone stretches over the waters of Lake Powell (when water is present).
